Read all scheme related documents carefully before investing.
Every mutual fund scheme is governed by a set of offer documents. Reading them helps you understand what you are investing in, the risks involved and the costs you will bear.
| Document | What it contains |
|---|---|
| SID Scheme Information Document | Detailed information about a scheme: investment objective and strategy, asset allocation, risk factors, load and expenses, benchmark, and how to invest or redeem. |
| SAI Statement of Additional Information | Information about the mutual fund, its sponsor, trustees and the AMC, along with legal and regulatory information common to its schemes. |
| KIM Key Information Memorandum | A short summary of the key features of a scheme, provided with the application form. |
Where to find them
- On the website of the relevant Asset Management Company (AMC), under the scheme’s documents section.
- On the AMFI website and the SEBI website.
- From ZFS on request. Write to info@zfs.co.in and we will share the relevant links.
ZFS does not host these documents. They are updated from time to time, so always refer to the latest version on the AMC’s website.
What to check before you invest
- The scheme’s investment objective and asset allocation.
- The riskometer and scheme risk factors.
- Exit load and the expense ratio (TER) applicable at the time of investing.
- Minimum investment amount and redemption terms.
- The benchmark and how the scheme has performed. Past performance may or may not be sustained in future.
- The tax treatment, which depends on your circumstances and prevailing tax laws.
